Mental Health Collaborative
Better Mental Health for All in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland
The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Mental Health Collaborative, Better Mental Health for All, brings together partners from across the integrated Care System (ICS) to coordinate, support and enable mental health transformation in line with shared priorities.
The Collaborative provides a forum for organisations to work together, shape future developments and influence the long-term mental health strategy for LLR. It also supports the development and delivery of an annual mental health delivery plan through the Integrated Care System.
How we work
The collaborative operates on the principle of partnership and collective action.
This means that organisations progress shared priorities by mutual agreement, while recognising that each partner retains responsibility for its own plans, resources, governance arrangements and statutory duties. Where appropriate, partners may choose to jointly commit resources to agreed programmes of work that deliver benefits across the system.
Our overarching principles align to:
- The NHS 10 Year Plan’s three shifts:
- Hospital to Community
- Analogue to Digital
- Sickness to Prevention
- The emerging Mental Health Strategy for England
- Modern Service Framework for SMI
Key Priorities:
– Increase breast cancer screening rates for SMI population
– Reduce smoking rates within the SMI population
– Improve the mental health support for the homeless population
– Increase mental health access, experience & outcomes for black communities
– Maintain the suicide rate below the national average
– Improve early intervention through neighbourhood mental health cafes
-Improve access to support through two neighbourhood mental health centres
