LOROS Hospice
LOROS Hospice is a local charity that every year, cares for more than 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. It provides free, high-quality compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers.
NHS England and Improvement Leadership and Lifelong Learning Team – Midlands
Established in April 2020, this Midlands Team supports local health systems to make decisions about how best to support and assure performance in the region, as well as supporting system transformation and the development of sustainability and transformation partnerships and integrated care systems.
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
UHL is one of the biggest and busiest NHS Trusts in the country, serving the one million residents of Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland – and increasingly specialist services over a much wider area. Our nationally and internationally-renowned specialist treatment and services in cardio-respiratory diseases, Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), cancer, and renal disorders reach a further two to three million patients from the rest of the country.
Rainbows Hospice
Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People provides specialist respite, palliative and end-of-life care to children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, we provide vital care and support to families impacted by life-limiting conditions. Rainbows has 12 beds and aims to provide 1:1 care wherever possible on needs led basis for all children and young people who use our service. We are a nurse-led unit with support from a team of doctors with expertise in children’s palliative and end-of-life care and symptom management.
Skills for Care
Skills for Care helps create a well-led, skilled, and valued adult social care workforce. It is an independent charity with over 18 years of experience in workforce development, working as a delivery partner for the Department of Health and Social Care. It also works closely with related services such as health and housing and is the membership organisation for registered managers.
Leicestershire County Council
Leicestershire County Council is responsible for a range of public services across the county. Health and Social care teams are working together to provide more joined-up care in the community, particularly for frail older people, those with long-term conditions, and other vulnerable groups, including carers.
Leicester City Council
The City Council serves the people, communities, and businesses of Leicester, the biggest city in the East Midlands. It is a unitary authority, which means it takes responsibility for many of the major decisions that affect people’s lives. This includes decisions around schools, roads, and setting council tax.
Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board
Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (LLR ICB) is a statutory body established in 1 July 2022, to replace Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The ICB is part of an Integrated Care System (ICS) with partners across LLR and will deliver a health and care system approach that tackles inequalities in health, delivers improvements to the health and wellbeing and experience of local people and provides value for money.
LLR Training Hub
The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Training Hub is emerging as an essential vehicle of primary care workforce transformation, working closely with stakeholders across LLR. With an ability to engage multiple general practice organisations and provide consistent education, development and workforce planning support, the hub offers opportunities for primary care colleagues to develop and enhance skills whilst also supporting new clinical staff through fellowships, preceptorships, peer and multi-professional learning groups.

The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Work Experience Hub is developing attraction opportunities to support our workforce of the future. Working closely with stakeholders across LLR including Health and Social Care organisations, schools, LLEP, Job Centre Plus and Career Advisors the hub offers opportunities for work experience, traineeships, Princes Trust and Kickstart programmes. These develop and enhance employability skills whilst also supporting the promotion of different health and social care careers.
