Freedom to speak up

Speak up - we will listen

The National Guardian Office say that ‘speaking up is about anything that gets in the way of doing a great job’.

At Leicester Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Integrated Care Board (ICB) we welcome speaking up and we will listen. By speaking up at work you will be playing a vital role in helping the NHS to keep improving its services for all patients and the working environment for all our staff.

We want you to feel safe to speak up

Speaking up is important because it helps identify opportunities for improvement that we might not otherwise know about.

The LLR ICB will not tolerate anyone being prevented or deterred from speaking up or being mistreated because they have spoken up.

The ICB's role

Freedom To Speak Up (FTSU) aligns to our responsibilities for quality care and promoting the highest standards in employment practice.  We want speaking up to be the norm and part of ‘business as usual’.

Our Freedom to Speak Up guardians will support individuals working across the LLR Integrated Care System including secondary and primary care i.e., general practice, social care, and acute Trusts, who feel unable to follow their organisation’s FTSU policy.
